Traditional Cantonese restaurant . That have good won ton noodle soup with beef brisket . Rich flavor . They roasted duck and Hoi Nam chicken are very popular as sit in or to go . Dinner has different dishes . One of my favorite is steam shrimps in minced garlic and ginger over ckear cellophane noodles ( fun see in Chinese ) . Also love their cream corn soup with diced chicken . A larger portion than near by restaurants and is very delicious . The only draw back is that they have different chefs : the main chef and the assistant chef . They cooking style is very different and you may call to find out which day the main chef is off and avoid going in those evening . Enjoy and have fun to try many items on the menu !

Came here with some friends for some post-work Chinese food and trauma dumping. We each ordered one dish and shared family style. The kung pao chicken had good variety of ingredients and chicken was well flavored. The eggplant noodle was simple but the noodles were more flavorful than the colors/picture suggest -- although would be nice if more eggplant and other ingredients were added to make each mouthful more than just noodles. The seafood tofu hot plate was pictured but not listed (at least not that I could find) in the menu and I think was my favorite dish of the three: tofu has good texture, well seasoned, and diversity in each bite. For 3 very full bellies at dinner time, it was $20 each person (so good pricing) and they also gave us grass jelly desserts for free!

New Hong Kong Wok is one of several Chinese restaurants that have been on Freeport Blvd for a long time. It's taken me a lifetime living in Sac to finally eat here! We had a great family style dinner for our party of 4. At first they sat us at a small square table, but I think since they weren't busy, asked if we wanted to move to one of the bigger round tables. Yes, please (If you're going to eat at an authentic Chinese restaurant, you have to experience it with the lazy Susan)! We got lemon iced tea, hot tea, water, and milk tea. Lemon iced tea was tasty but just a tad too sweet for me (but hubs loved it). My friend, whose family is a regular at NHKW, did all the ordering. I just requested fried rice and string beans. We had the beef noodle soup, roast pork, Hainese chicken, BBQ roast duck, fried tofu, and beef chow mein, Hong Kong-style (crispy thin egg noodles, presented like a bird nest). Portions for all dishes were more than enough for us with plenty of leftovers. The chow mein noodles were a perfect balance of crispy on top and noodles soaking up the delicious savory sauce on the bottom. The beef chunks on top had good flavor but some pieces were too chewy or fatty, but the baby bok choy was nicely flavored and tender. Totally satisfied my craving for that type of chow mein. Fried rice was very good. The string beans, stir-fried with ground pork was the winner of the meal. Well-seasoned with garlic and/or black bean sauce. Every dish was good. TBH, I think it helps to come here with someone who can speak the language with the staff so they can make recommendations. If it were just me, I probably wouldn't have tried any of the more authentic dishes and stuck with the more familiar items you'd find at an American-Chinese restaurant. They do have pictures on their menu to help you out though. If you're in the Land Park area and craving authentic Hong Kong-style Chinese food, try New Hong Kong Wok!

Came here around 5:30 on a friday for dinner. Parking is kinda tight around this area because there's like a ton of small shops and stuff and on a busy main road so parking lot is kinda crowded but we found parking right in front. Inside didnt have many people, jus like one or two other parties, and another came in while we were there. We ordered the malaysian chow fun, beef stew wet chow fun, house speical congee, satay beef with mushroom, and the chef special filet fish thing + a sliced beef congee to go. All was 80$ which is honestly really good for 6 dishes and many many meals. It all came out in like 15 ish minutes. The chow funs were both pretty good. I like the wet beef stew one better because they jus always have more flavor with the sauce but both were pretty good. The noodles were a litttle hard so they couldve been cooked a bit more. The congee was pretty good, had alot of flavor and a good amount of whatever the meat was lol. The fish was decent lol jus fish with some sauce. The beef with enoki mushroom was also cool, lots of onions tho. The food was all pretty good, pretty good portions and decent flavor. Overall place is a solid chinese place. A ton of the original chinese spots ive been to for awhile have fallen off and i dont go back lol. But i would probably go back because its pretty cheap and good enough. However there is absolutely like no service. Jus give u food and stuff and thats it lol. They didnt give us water but they gave tea so u probably need to ask. But i like this place for its good prices.

They have a great selection of food. We ordered already a variety of the food and we were happy with mostly of them. Here goes our top 2 food there, they are like a comfort food, feels like a home cook food, so delicious. Their wonton soup is fire. The wontons are juice and so flavorful, amazing. Second is the mapo tofu, the tofu is so silk, the meat is well seasoned, and with some white rice mmmm it's just delicious!
